June 10, 2003 On June 10, the Wisconsin Pottery Association had a presentation on
Cowan Pottery by Steve Schoneck. The thirty eight members of
the audience learned about the Cowan Pottery and what made it different from
other potteries at that time. Below

Steve said it was quite common to have one colored flower frog inside a
different colored bowl. |

Steve referred to these as Push Pull Elephants. Designed by
Margaret Postgate in 1929 (#840-841). They appeared to be inspired by
the work she did for Proctor & Gamble for making designs out of soap. |
