This vase was done by masking off the design with a rubber electrical tape
and then brushing on black over glaze |
This two piece hand thrown pot is decorated with decals. The yellow &
the decals were end of his supply & he wanted to use them up. |
This piece was decorated by first applying bands of clay with a squeeze bag
then using a chisel to manipulate the clay and press into the side of the
pot used to make the vertical lines |

This anniversary plate, which he made for himself, is decorated by using
printing press type. It was typical of some of the commissioned work
he did. |

This mug was made by applying multiple layers of "press apply" dots as a
stick-on mask and then spraying underglazes.
|
|
The blackness on all of the blackware pieces is the result of exposing pots
to smoke at the end of the firing, usually by smothering them in sawdust.
