Presentation by Kurt Wild
April 8, 2003

Below are some of Kurt Wild's work in chronological order.  Please forgive the quality of the pictures, because they were pictures taken off the screen from Mr. Wild's presentation.

This was one of Kurt's last pieces to use doilies for patterns.

#8-42 9-1/8" Diam. 4-1/2" High

This vase appeared in Ceramics Monthly "Comment" column and was thrown by Bill Gossman and decorated by Kurt in February 1999
10" dia. & 20" high

Kurt pointed out how the butterflies repeated and changed position on each side of this vase.  Kurt admitted that one of his tools, was using a computer to change images by shrinking & stretching them.
#52502G-Butterflies- tall vase 9-1/8"diam. x 22-1/4" high
Thrown by Bill Gossman
The following pictures were taken after the presentation.  Again, please excuse the poor pictures.  The tiles are square.

After the presentation, the audience viewed some of the samples Kurt had brought & to ask him additional questions.

Tile dated 2-25-03

Tile 3-21-03

This is a glazed, but unfired tile.  The glaze was colored with food color.

Cats have become a very popular item.

Tile dated 2-24-03
Kurt said he was enjoying using cats as the subject manner of tiles because of being able to alter their shapes & decorations but still being able to recognize them as cats.  It's also amazing because he isn't really fond of cats.

Back of cat tile.  Kurt said his signature has remain consistent with his signature & the extension of the "D".  The number is the date the piece was glazed.
